Today many people in developing regions, especially places where poverty and conflict are rampant, are nonetheless connected to the developed world through television, cell phones, newspapers and the Internet. These connections bring people a vision of how their own lives could be if only they were connected to this vast, unbelievably wealthy marketplace. In other words, unlike past times when people in the developing world were more or less "in the dark" about the developed world, today millions of people have a window to our world. What they see may breed hope, but it is more likely to breed anger or despair because they look at a world full of opportunity but they cannot participate directly.

We're bringing hope by building the connections between individuals and the vast marketplace called the global commercial e-commerce world. Connections begin on the ground, in the regions where people live, work and try to support their families. It starts with bridges between our immense capability to generate wealth through e-commerce and key people in the developing world who have the means and education to organize others.

This is where your contributions first create the rays of hope. Your dollars support those key individuals, here in the West and in the regions where we operate, with the tools they need to begin to organize local people to access and profit from e-commerce.
